“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
~Peter Drucker
The year ahead won’t shape itself—you have to take charge. Success isn’t about doing more; it’s about making strategic, intentional moves that set you up for long-term impact. Before the pace of life sweeps you away, take a moment to reflect, refocus, and recommit to what truly matters.
Here are five power plays to help you build a year of purpose, growth, and resilience. Power Play #1: A Vision That Pulls You Forward.
“Where there is no vision, the people are out of control.“ (Proverbs 29:18, LSB)
A breakthrough life doesn’t happen by accident—it happens by design. What is God calling you to in 2025? A clear vision acts as your guide, keeping you focused when distractions come. Take time to pray, reflect, and write down the vision God has placed on your heart. Ask yourself:
- What do I feel called to accomplish this year?
- How does my vision align with my God-given purpose?
- What needs to change in my daily life to move toward it?
Don’t just hope for a better year—plan for one.
Power Play #2: Disciplined Focus on What Matters Most.
Busyness is the enemy of breakthrough. Just because you’re doing a lot doesn’t mean you’re doing what matters. If everything is a priority, nothing is.
Identify your top priorities—your faith, your family, your mission—and protect your time fiercely. Be ruthless! Set boundaries that allow you to focus on the things that bring the most fruit in your life. Ask yourself:
- What are my biggest distractions?
- Where am I saying “yes” when I need to say “no”?
- How can I create space for what truly matters?
Power Play #3: Growth That Stretches You.
A breakthrough 2025 means stepping outside your comfort zone. Growth isn’t optional—it’s a necessity.
John Maxwell says, “We cannot become what we need by remaining what we are.” That means you must keep learning, stretching, and embracing new challenges. Surround yourself with people who challenge you to be better and stay teachable. Ask yourself:
- What skills or knowledge do I need to develop this year?
- How can I invest in my personal and spiritual growth? See our 2025 Reading List HERE.
- What fears are holding me back from stepping into new opportunities?
Power Play #4: Relationships That Elevate You.
You won’t reach your full potential alone. The people around you either push you forward or pull you away from your purpose. Choose your circle wisely.
Surround yourself with people who challenge, encourage, and strengthen your faith and purpose. Who’s in Your Fab 5?
And remember—someone out there needs you to be their encourager, too. Ask yourself:
- Who in my life is helping me grow spiritually and professionally?
- Are there relationships I need to step away from in 2025?
- How can I be more intentional about building a community that lifts me up?
Power Play #5: Resilience to Stay in the Game.
Storms will come, but God is your anchor. Success isn’t about avoiding obstacles but pushing forward despite them.
Vince Lombardi said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” Challenges aren’t signs to quit but opportunities to grow. Stay the course, trust the process, and keep your faith strong.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) Ask yourself:
- How do I usually respond to setbacks?
- What truths do I need to hold onto when things get tough?
- Where do I need to trust God more in 2025?
Your Next Power Moves for 2025.
- Write down and pray over your vision—don’t leave your future to chance.
- Audit your time. Identify what’s stealing your focus and make changes to prioritize what truly matters.
- Commit to learning. Read books, take courses, and seek out mentors.

- Prioritize prayer and reflection—your faith sustains your success.
