“The greatest gap in your life is between what you know and what you do.” ~Chris Robinson.
Action is the Antidote.
I recently came across a quote from a millionaire: “People don’t have the patience to dedicate three years to building their own business, but they have the patience to work for others for 40 years.”
Ouch!
In coaching and in business, one truth stands out: action drives transformation. Getting stuck in planning, overthinking, or waiting for the perfect moment is easy. But success belongs to those who step into the arena and make things happen. So, ask yourself, are you leaving butt prints or footprints? If you’re sitting still, it’s time to get moving.
Get Up and Move.
The cure for stagnation is action. Whether you’re dealing with failure, fear, or financial struggles, the answer is movement. Action is the antidote to whatever holds you back. Don’t let fear or failure paralyze you—use them as fuel.
- Failure? Get back on the horse. Success stories are built on overcoming setbacks. It’s not about how many times you fall but how many times you get back up.
- Discouraged? Shift your focus. Even in setbacks, there’s a silver lining. Learn from the experience and move forward.
- Fear? Face it. Everything you want is on the other side of fear. Action shrinks fear; inaction amplifies it.
- No money? Start where you are with what you have. Momentum breeds opportunity.
- Feeling alone? Build your community. Start creating your Fab 5—those who support and challenge you. Connection and trust are powerful motivators.
- Did something stupid? We’ve all been there. Stupid is built into the plan!
Action Breeds Success.
Success isn’t a single event but a series of steps. Each step brings you closer to your goal. Don’t wait to see the entire path—take the first step, and the next will reveal itself. As Walt Disney said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.”
Make Each Step Count.
When you embrace action, every step becomes part of your journey. Celebrate every step, learn from setbacks, and keep moving forward. As Dr. Seuss reminds us, “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So get on your way!”
Jerry Rice once said, “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.” This mindset separates those who succeed from those who merely dream.
Keep Moving Forward.
In coaching and life, movement is essential. You can’t steer a parked car, and you can’t achieve your goals by standing still. So, get up, get moving, and leave footprints, not butt prints. Your mountain is waiting—start your climb today.
The difference between success and stagnation is simple: Action.
Remember Chip: From this moment, you can go anywhere you want to go!
- What fears or failures have held you back, and how can you start taking action today?
- How do you stay motivated when the path isn’t clear?
- In what areas of your business are you sitting still, and what actions can create momentum?
