And Moses said, “If your PRESENCE doesn’t go with us, don’t let us leave this place.” –Exodus 33:15
Talk about a CONDITIONAL statement. We’re taught that conditional statements sabotage relationships, but Moses’ fearlessness drove him to go against the grain and make a CONDITIONAL statement that gave him UNCONDITIONAL access.
He had experienced something so INCREDIBLY CAPTIVATING and OUT OF THIS WORLD that he REFUSED — yes REFUSED — TO TAKE ANOTHER STEP without it. WOW. He didn’t need music. He didn’t need a church. He didn’t need a script. All he had was an experience, and that was enough.
What if your answer is one conditional statement away? I remember exactly where I was when this verse became real to me — 15 years old — about to fall asleep on the couch. But in that moment on that couch in Baton Rouge, I felt God closer to me than ever before. Never in my life have I experienced God’s presence more than when I stretch out my hands and say, “If your presence doesn’t go with me, don’t let me leave this place.”
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
