Kickstarter: Crawl, walk, run

It’s time to do something!

People fail because of complacency, fear of the unknown or just a lack of initiative.

What aren’t you doing that you know you need to do? When do you plan to start? How do you expect to get to Point B if you never leave Point A?

The inimitable Zig Ziglar said: “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!”

There is plenty in your life you have not started. Whether you don’t have the finances, you are concerned what other people might say or you don’t know where to begin, the obstacles are all in your mind. Yes, it’s all in your head!

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” ~Henry Ford.

You must start with what you have. You must take the first step from where you’re standing right now. If your ship hasn’t come in yet, it’s time to swim out to meet it!

It’s time to do something!

No, it may not happen overnight, but it must begin in your head, with the way you think, with the determination of a bulldog, with your blueprint and gameplan.

Then, you crawl first. Make the first decision to do what you should have done yesterday. But do it today. Do it now! Write it down. Tell someone else to help your accountability.

If you want to eat better, start with one meal. If you want to start saving, start with $1 or $5 a day. If you want to be a better spouse or parent, ask your spouse or kids how their day was…then listen.

Crawl. Walk. Run.

It’s time to do something. It’s time to change something. It’s time to make a difference. It’s time to get off the sidelines and become a participant rather than a spectator.

It’s pretty obvious that you aren’t going to steal second base if you keep your foot on first base.

Today is the day. What’s that old saying? Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today. There isn’t a better time than right now.

Here are some quick ways to move forward:

  • Pick one thing you want or need to start. One thing, only one thing.
  • Identify the first step, that one move forward that will get the ball rolling.
  • Write it down. Call a friend and tell them.
  • Implement! Do something! Move forward!
  • Celebrate the new beginning.
  • Complete your gameplan, blueprint and lay out the road map to your goal.

Don’t try to run first. You’ll stumble and fall, become discouraged and be tempted to not get back up again.

Crawl. Walk. Run.

Today isn’t just another day. Make today the start of something new, something fresh, something marvelous.

It’s time to do something!
