Look for the silver lining.

There may be a few clouds out there, but plenty of blue skies are also there. And there’s a silver lining waiting just for you!

Yes, you may have to look for it, you may have to work a little at it, you may have to adjust your perspective, and you may well have to get out of your comfort zone.

For sure, you will have to change your attitude. Ah oh, you say, “now he’s stopped preaching and gone to meddling!” That’s a game-changer in your search to find the silver lining.

No, not meddling, but changing your thought process and viewpoint can be challenging at times, especially when you’re stuck in ordinary and mediocrity. But if you’re hard-headed about that, you won’t see the silver lining!

Look for the good stuff. Look for the bright side. You know there are always two sides to the story, two sides to every situation. So try something different: Stop looking on the bad side, on the downside. Spend some time dwelling on the good side, the upside! Yeah, I know; you probably haven’t looked there too often, right?

You won’t see the silver lining until you are correctly aligned. No, I’m not talking about the planets lining up or some astrological horoscope. It’s about you being in the proper position and mindset.

Here are some thoughts on getting you out of the rut and in a position to find the silver lining.

  • Today, get out of the ‘woe is me” rut!
  • Stop moping and start growing.
  • Stop thinking about all the things that can go wrong. Most of them won’t go wrong, you know!
  • Find some positive thoughts and apply those to your life.
  • Count. Your. Blessings. Write them down, one by one.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. ~Philippians 4:8

And that, my friend, is today’s assignment. Stop what you’re doing, take out a pencil and paper and write down everything going right in your life. Everything that can go right in your life. Then, start thinking about those things. Sit outside, look at some beautiful scenery and let the good thoughts incubate!

And, soon, you’ll be surprised at how the silver lining will suddenly be right in front of you.
