If it’s true that you cannot lead where you have not been, doesn’t it stand to reason you wouldn’t take advice from someone who hasn’t been there? People will have opinions and suggestions, and often they will try to tell you what to do. But ask yourself these questions:
- Am I getting an opinion, or am I learning from an experience?
- Are these people experts on this matter?
- Do these people have my best interests at heart?
- What have they achieved that will help me on this particular journey?
