Forget the opinions and judgment of others. God has the final say in your life.
In this world today, we get weighed down and burdened by others’ abusive thoughts and criticisms. From every direction, we hear: I’m not good enough. I don’t measure up. I’m not attractive, or I can’t do this or that. Sadly, many have heard those disparaging assessments most of their lives. Those phrases burrow deep into our hearts and become grounded in our souls. But God has the final say and can cancel those comments! And the good news gets better: With God, we don’t need a second opinion! He says we are highly esteemed (Daniel 9:23). One translation even says that “God thinks highly of you”! (CET). In Deuteronomy, he has pronounced you “the head and not the tail” and says that you are “above and not beneath.” When we have that opinion, do we really need others? It’s up to you, though. You can accept the opinions of the enemy of your soul and others in your life. Or you can accept the affirmation of the One who created you. Refer to your owner’s manual, please.
