Attitude: The game-changer for your future and destiny

Your attitude is the single greatest game-changer in your life. Nothing else will have a greater impact. Nothing. Nada. Zippo.

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.

Zig Ziglar.

If you take the attitude that you are beaten down and defeated, you will be beaten down and defeated. If you stand up, take charge, and believe you can overcome, you will overcome. The choice is yours. It is one thing the government, society, your friends, or your family can not take away from you!

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

Lou Holtz

Attitude is the single, most crucial factor in your recovery, your new start, your revival, and your overall approach to life. You may conclude your finances are out of control. You may believe you can’t completely manage your health. Your kids may not be cooperating, your job may not be working out, or you may be uncertain about the future.

None of that matters until you get your attitude in line with your goals and with the direction you want to take your life. And here’s the good news!

Your attitude is absolutely your choice, 100%. This is one area of your life that you can’t ever entrust to anyone else. Do not give up that right, do not allow others to influence it. If you’ve already given it up, take back the reins. Do it, and do it now! Be a master over your attitude, and you can master the other areas of your life.

The only thing over which you have complete right of control at all times is your mental attitude.

Napoleon Hill.

Changing your attitude won’t be easy. But it’s imperative and, after all, it may be the only thing under your complete control! You’ve probably carried it around for many years, so it will require letting go. Remember, you can’t steal second base if you keep your foot on first. If you want to change your life — and especially your attitude — you’ll have to do something you’ve never done before.

Start today, take charge, and vow to improve your attitude. We all can make changes there, every one of us. It doesn’t mean you deny the state you may be in or your conditions. Rather, it’s all about perspective for the future. You aren’t stuck there. Get out of the rut. After all, a rut is only a grave with both ends kicked out!

How, you say? We’re getting there! Remember this, though!

Keep your thoughts positive,
because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive
because your words become your behavior.
Keep your behavior positive
because your behavior becomes your habits.
Keep your habits positive
because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive
because your values become your destiny.

Mahatma Ganhdi.

So, here’s where to start. Be judicious. Be purposeful. Be determined. Be persistent.

  1. Your Fab Five! Surround yourself with key people who will encourage and speak life to you, not bring you down and cause you to live in fear and worry. 1 Cor. 15:33.
  2. Be careful about what you watch and listen to. Remember, it’s garbage in, garbage out! What you watch, listen to, and read will direct your thoughts, both positively and negatively! Philippians 4:8.
  3. Find a quiet time to think, read, pray, and meditate.
  4. Guard what comes out your mouth! Indeed, there is great power in the tongue, and it can be to your benefit. Or your detriment. Proverbs 18:20-21.
  5. Plan for success, not failure. Set goals and act on them. Don’t give up. Never give up! Psalm 37:4-5.
  6. Be grateful and thankful! Psalm 100:4-5.

The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That’s the day we truly grow up.

John Maxwell.

This is not the end all, but it gives you a tremendous jumpstart on recreating your thinking, your mindset, and, most importantly, your attitude. Be intentional with every step, and don’t give up.
